Weekend Update

beer-bust-8-march-250x250OK, well, that was fun. It’s been difficult to explain what’s been going on in my life lately. It all seems to be a big jumble.

I suppose first I should mention that Team Be-Cause, the ALC fund raising team that is the successor to Team Bear, had a steering committee meeting on Friday. The minutes of which are up on the new website, http://teambecause.org/ which I threw together over the weekend. We are busy planning events and having fun!

Saturday, I had some work, then went to the Foggy City Dancers’ Valentine’s Dance. Barry Clasper called, and although the attendance wasn’t what we hoped for, everyone who attended had a great time.

Sunday, I was a lump.

Monday, I worked, and Today, I’ll be working, too. This morning, I called and arranged a beer bust for Team BeCause at the Pilsner Inn on 8 March from 15:00 to 19:00.

Meant to Ride

In even more news, I think I might have mentioned this already, but it bears repeating. In August, my bicycle was stolen. I gave myself until the end of the year to get a new bike, or I’d convert from being a rider to a roadie for AIDS/LifeCycle 7 next June. I posted a plea for help on the ALC discussion forum, and somebody in Palm Springs offered a bike to me. I’ll be going down there the weekend before Christmas to pick it up. I’m still amazed at the coincidence of this: his friend, who was tall like me (and an avid cyclist), died of lung cancer. The friend’s family wanted the bike to go to a tall rider who is riding in the ALC. The donor saw my post and contacted me. It’s quite boggling.

Some would say this was meant to be – http://aidslifecycle.org/1611 – Please donate to support my efforts to help those living with this illness.
