It’s been awhile since I have written anything. All I seem to do is work and work. I’m glad I like working, but I need to get over this aversion to socializing that I’ve been experiencing lately. So do that, though, I need to do something about all this weight I’ve gained since I’ve moved here to Sacramento.

I’m frustrated with the amount of time Nicholas spends tending the cannabis plants and smoking pot. Sometimes I feel like I want to rip those plants out of the ground.

And I am angry about feeling resentment about caring for my dad. And that he and Nicholas don’t get along very well. And that my foolish old father actually tried to make me choose between them. I told him that if I were going to choose, then Nicholas and I would leave his house and live elsewhere. I never will give in to ultimatums. He and I had a long conversation after that about my relationship with Nicholas, and things seem to have calmed down since then.

I watched a movie “Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead” two nights ago that has me wanting to do a juicing fast. The guy fasted for 61 days, living on fresh vegetable and fruit juice he made himself, and he lost 70 pounds. He started a juicing movement and I am going to give it a try. At the very least it will give me something to blog about.

Business is really good, and my business plan for expansion looks good. Let’s see if I can pull it off!

On Tuesdays I go to San Francisco to see the remaining clients I have there to finish. On this visit I decided to go visit John, who is recovering at home from his stroke from a few weeks ago. Since he can’t drive right now, a friend is storing his car so that visitors can use John’s garage space to park. I pulled in to the garage and closing the door, headed upstairs to the flat and to see John.

The visit was very good, and I was glad to be able to see John, but eventually I had to head downtown to see my clients. UGH is a two-unit Victorian/Edwardian house with a ground-level garage/basement. John’s unit is the upper unit and has a stairway inside the front door. At the bottom of the stairs near the door is a button to open the garage door, and I pushed it to head downstairs and our toward the garage. I opened the front door and headed down the stoop. One of the downstairs neighbors was standing on the stoop, looking over the handrail/wall next to the garage, and a passerby was staring in horror at the garage door. This can’t be good.

So, I descended the steps and rounded the corner to see a recently shorn English Sheepdog hanging by his leash on the opening garage door. What. The. Fuck! Running toward the dog, past it into the garage to lower the door back down but its body keeps activating the safety eye and re-raising the door. The drunk neighbor is yelling at me to lower the door, and I’m telling him to grab the dog’s body out of the way, which he finally does.

Aside from emptying itself all over the driveway and garage, the dog seems just fine.

But that leads me to wonder what sort of plain fool ties their dog to a garage door when they cannot control the opening? Or even if they do. I’m boggled at the stupidity of people sometimes.
