Miscommunication Abounds

by Paul Brown on 20 August 2009

A friend with whom I have done the occasional massage trade had scheduled the second half of a trade we did for yesterday afternoon.  What I didn’t know is that he asked me to come to his place of work to deliver the service.  Well, I don’t do outcalls, as he well knew, so I’m not sure why he asked.

Anyway, I didn’t notice that he asked me that in the comments of the appointment request, so when I was waiting at my office for him to show up, and he didn’t show up, I sent him a text message asking him if he was ok.  He phoned me right back, and was mad at me that I wasn’t at his place.

I must be more clear on these sorts of things.   Maybe I’ve become spoiled by my fabulous table?  I don’t want to expend the extra energy that working on a flat stationary table requires anymore.

But that brings me to next point.  I have the opportunity to work on some clients in Sacramento once or twice a month if I can find a location.  Ironically, it would be working on a normal (flat, stationary) table.  But the profit would outweigh the cost, and I’d gain some of my clients back from Sacramento that I lost when I moved to San Francisco six years ago.
