Sweet Rice

My roommate, John, roasted two bunches of organic asparagus he received as a gift, and it turned out delicious.  But I was still feeling kinda noshy so I decided to make some rice.

I took two cups of long grain rice, I think it’s jasmine rice, and cooked it in 5 cups of water.  In the water, I added 3/4 cups of sugar, 1/2 tsp of nutmeg, and 1/2 tsp of cinnamon, as well as a small squirt of vanilla extract.

I cooked it like normal, then took it off heat.   It’s like a thick, sticky rice that’s sweet and I think I’m going to become moistened by the experience.  Especially with some dark mushroom soy sauce on it.  Heaven!
