Whew, what a busy day!
It all started out this morning, when I woke up and read for an hour, then got up, had some coffee, showered, dressed, gathered up the Team Be-cause donation bucket and donation bracelets and headed down to meet Joseph and Scott at Baja Fresh, for our fund raising event today. As they had things well under control, and I had to also get ready for Foggy City Dancers’ Hawaiian Shirt Night, I took off. Looks like they raised a decent chunk of change, too, so hooray!
Meanwhile, I got a text from Jason saying he wanted to go see a movie, and did I want to go with him? So, we worked out the details and headed to the AMC 1000 Van Ness and saw X-men Origins: Wolverine. While not too heavy on the super powers, it did have some really good interpersonal relationship stuff, and a few interesting special effects, so I can recommend it.
From O’Farrell, we walked down to Market and hopped on MUNI. I got off at Church and he continued on to Castro. I headed in to the Safeway and picked up a shrimp tray and a fruit tray and other stuff and hopped on the 22-Fillmore to Oak and from there walked home.
At 18:15, Steve picked me up and we headed to the FCD storage unit and picked up the sound gear and some bottled water, heading to the school where we dance.
Our treasurer, John, joined us at the school, and we started getting all our decorations set up for the evening. Other dancers arrived and lent a hand, as well as put on some of the grass skirts and leis and coconut bras and stuff.
We had a really fun time. And we got a chance to talk to members about what they think about how we can continue to grow and make the club thrive. And we got some good ideas about present some possible intra-club events with our sister club, Western Star Dancers.
Finally, though, it was time to come home. A great, but busy day.
