Grey skies and chill wind
cold rain upon matted leaves
and autumn sinks in.

What, this is Heaven?
Cold rain upon matted leaves?
I thought different.

Warmly wrapped in bed
Cold rain upon matted leaves
Yay indoor heating

Walking to the car
Cold rain upon matted leaves
I’m chilled to the bone

The turkey is burnt.
Cold rain upon matted leaves.
Pizza hut awaits.

Gray clouds send soft
Cold rain upon matted leaves.
Winter enfolds all.

The house specialty?
Cold rain upon matted leaves.
Won’t eat there again!

A warm prolonged kiss
Cold rain upon matted leaves
The world falls silent

Autumn’s frosty nip
Cold rain upon matted leaves
Friends’ love warms my soul

Dance to rhythms of
Cold rain upon matted leaves.
Winter resonates.
