More Pink Saturday

Sangroncito Gets Speared on Flickr – Photo Sharing!
Here’s a photo someone took of me spearing a drag queen with my warhammer on Pink Saturday. Thanks to Neil H. for finding it for me.

Also, sfobearSFOBear has a picture of me in pink, too. Go check it out.

Pink Saturday 2008

Well, I drew a pattern on the fly directly onto the fur fabric, and cut out a vest, then hand-stitched it together. I made a breech clout and some wrappings to go around my Red Wings. Finally, realizing that I didn’t have any pockets, I cut out a pouch that I could put on the belt under the breech clout. Adding to that the be-glittered Viking Hat, and the War Hammer, I was Pink Thor, god of all burly homos!

Ironically, I had about 700 photographs taken of me with all sorts of random people, but I can’t find a single one.

Prepare to Be Pinked

After work this afternoon, I hopped on the bus for Costumes on Haight, and found the perfect hat for my costume. I grabbed a quick bite to eat at The Grind Cafe, then hopped on the 24 to the Castro, where I picked up a can of spray glue, and pink, silver, and gold glitter.

Now I am letting the glitter dry before I try to re-assemble the hat. Next up, trying to figure out a good configuration for all that pink fur I bought last week.

Having never dressed up for Pink Saturday before, I hope this works.

Exquisite Corpse, V63.2

Thanks to everyone who played this round of Everyone’s Favorite Online Collaborative Poetry Game™, Exquisite Corpse:

Heat shimmer
seen from my window,
a pampered piebald,
My souls could melt upon this wretched pavement.

Lime Jell-O ® and a bucket of chicken-grease
floating aimlessly upon a sea of green
Anticipating landfall
All because of the metric system.

Time to go back to bed,
And dream of undulating sperm.

Montana GOP Candidate for US Senate Favors Parliamentary System

BillingsGazette.com :: Kelleher draws few at GOP convention

State Republican Chairman Erik Iverson decided not to allow Kelleher to speak during one of the meals at the convention, as other statewide candidates were allowed to do. Iverson said it appeared that the only plank of the Republican platform Kelleher agrees with was opposition to abortion.

“We have limited time,” Iverson said earlier this week. “We are reserving it for our other statewide candidates.”

Kelleher is an 85-year-old Butte lawyer and perennial candidate who has run mostly on the Democratic ticket for nearly a half century but on the Green and Republican tickets in recent years. He was the GOP’s surprise Senate nominee in a six-candidate primary earlier this month, winning 26,789 votes.
Now Kelleher is the Republican long-shot challenger to Democratic incumbent Sen. Max Baucus, who is seeking his sixth consecutive six-year term.

Before he went to the side room, Kelleher admitted to one Republican, “It would be a lot better if I lost. I didn’t plan on winning.”

Nonetheless, Kelleher lived up this end of the bargain. He set up in the side room, making available copies of the speech he had been prepared to deliver and a paper outlining his support for replacing the U.S. form of government with the parliamentary system used many countries, such as Great Britain. Under a parliament, country’s prime minister is chosen from the legislative branch, as are the cabinet members.

He put up a sign in the room that said, “Outlaw lobbyists. Vote Kelleher U.S. Parliament.” Kelleher laid out some newly minted, union-paid red, white and blue buttons for supporters.

Friends Make Life Worthwhile

After work Saturday, I came back home to do my final, frantic run-through the house to prepare for Kim’s arrival. I inflated the air mattress, and dressed it up in some comfy flannel sheets. He arrived pretty much on time and there was movie star parking on the curb, so he didn’t have to fret about finding a place to park. We sat on the stoop for a few minutes and chatted about this and that. Then I brought him upstairs to the house.

I have been nervous about having people over, but Kim was very gracious and my anxiety melted away. So, I called my favorite cabby in the whole world, the lovely and talented Alicia, and she came and whisked us away to Thai Chef, where I introduced Kim to some new and different Thai dishes. Meanwhile, we talked about the upcoming new bar Toad Hall, as well as cruised the sidewalk from our window seats.

Next stop was the Edge, where he tried a Big Daddy IPA, and I had a Jack and Coke. Keith, the barback, is quite a sexy fellow, a violist with a quartet, who has played with the Tulsa symphony, and he and Kim knew people in common from that. Such a small world.

I was feeling radiant in my Bears Gone Wild “Oh Dear” t-shirt of John Deere green, and I think the confidence of wearing a shirt that makes you feel good is attractive. It was a good night, and I felt really “on” and centered, quite in the moment, playing host. It’s in those sorts of service roles that I feel the most at home and myself.

At 440, who should we run into but showmeonthedollErnie (showmeonthedoll), and soon he and Kim were discussing bitonalism and Bach.

The conversation flowed all over the place, and we were joined by infobearCorey (infobear) who is doing some sort of internship or work-like thing down in San Jose for the summer.

I could see that he and Kim were happy to be getting acquainted, as I was trying to make sure that Kim had a good time. I was very present and seeing all these people flowing around, in and out of the conversation, and Ernie had taken a shine to my thin black leather gloves. He’s all nice and cuddly and stuff.

But after a few hours of stimulating conversation and stuff, I was growing increasingly tired, so I called Alicia again and she ferried us back home to UGH.

Sunday morning, we rose and broke our fast at Stacks’, that breakfast joint at Hayes Green. We had a leisurely meal, and then it was time for him to go to the airport. I was really glad to have had him over. But a lovely, luxurious post-breakfast nap had to happen so I could be ready for my dinner plans.

Chris, Bjorn, Courtney and I all met at Chris’ place on Valencia. They all were on the ALC7 on the massage team, and we all hit it off and have been hanging out since. We had some magical brownies (really, really strong ones) and then got on BART to head to Daly City for dinner at Todai. Once the magic hit us, we were all really into eating, and I was particularly fascinated by these grilled lobsters. It was really delicious.

But it was time to go, and we made our way back to BART and rode back up to 16th Street. Bjorn wasn’t feeling so hot after supper, so he headed home, and the rest of us went back to Chris’ place and hung out for a little while longer. I became obsessed by stretching my body out while Chris and Courtney had a talk show moment.

At around 22:45, they went to meet a friend of Courtney’s and I made my way home, where I relaxed and tried to read, but was still too magical, and just gave up and got on the computer sitting out on the balcony overlooking St. Mary’s of Maytag.

Finally, though, sleep poke his soft and squishy fingers at me, and I climbed up into the loft bed and was out in three breaths. Sleep, dear sleep.

A Friday Folly

I am still using my laptop computer here at home, as I haven’t decided on a strategy for fixing my desktop computer. My current thinking involves running Ubuntu Linux with WINE for any Windows programs I might want to run. I have read that WoW works well in this configuration, so I think I’ll give it a try.

In other news, I worked yesterday, and between clients had a cuddle encounter with a young man with whom I have been wanting to meet more privately since last September. We like cuddles. I suspect there will be more of them.

Today, I have to finish getting the front room ready for my out of town guest, the music professor musclebear from Tulsa. If you see us out and about later this afternoon, don’t be shy, come up and say hi!

Tattoo Update

From Random Pics

I had Plumpy take a couple of pics of the new ink in the tattoo. The sky is completed for now. You can see the transition from day to night now, and the mountains are definitely there! My next session is July 3rd, and I am looking forward to it so much!

One Mustn’t Speak Ill of the Dead

I do believe my hard drive was fixin’ to fail, and two nights ago it did just that, not booting. I had to cancel a trade with a hypnotist yesterday to try to fix it, and still wasn’t successful.

Today I went to Sacred Rose for my first tattoo session in four years to complete my back piece. In the two and a half hours we worked, it looks like we completed the sky across my shoulders. I just woke up from my post-tattoo nap and had Plumpy take the bandages off. I will take a couple of pictures presently, I just don’t know how I’ll get them up to my picasa site just yet. I had to bring my laptop home from my office to have a working computer at home.

Tomorrow I have two clients to see – fortunately, one of them is my Ancient Client, and the other is an out of towner, so the first client will be easy, and the second will be the deeper of the two. As long as I maintain really good body mechanics, which I tend to do anyway, my shoulders shouldn’t give me too much problem.
