Drops of water gather
in the basin at my feet.

Soon to wash away the aches
and pains of the day.

Silent tears falling,
always bittersweet.

The son of a half-moon prayer,
kneeling towards the sun

The heart has its reasons,
of which reason knows nothing

Hidden among the soul’s arrivals and departures
Like the reflections of another life in my eyes
