What Do I call this one?

I’ve been on a cooking jag lately, at least as far as Sunday Dinner is concerned. This past sunday, I cooked up two cups of basmati rice. While that was cooking, I boiled 6 small or medium sized golden beets. Also, I got the wok ready and stir fried some sliced onions, fresh grated ginger. I cubed four boneless, skinless chicken breast halves, and dusted them in cornstarch, adding them to the mix. Then I added the beets, which I had also cubed. Finally, three or four heads of baby bok choi, with the leaves separated. I made a sauce of tangerine juice, mushroom soy sauce.

It was suprisingly tasty. I was really surpised by it.

Meanwhile, markosfMarkOsf and hardybearPeter (hardybear) and I went to see albadgerAl Badger perform in the San Leandro Players’ rendition of William Inge’s Bus Stop. As it was the final performance, I won’t give it more than a cursory review, but every player was very good, even the weakest of them, the actor who played Carl, the bus driver. Al Badger was especially good as the sheriff. Yes, I know, I’m probably biased, but I thought he was very good.

From the theater, we three came back on BART, transfered to MUNI and went to golden produce on Church, where I picked up the aforementioned beets and bok choi. bigjohnsfBig John in San Francisco picked us up from the produce market on his way home from visiting a friend, and we all hung out at UGH while I made us dinner.

Albadger showed up sometime later with dessert – a key lime pie. And that was a perfect way to end the day.
