So, instead of just mocking the van, I decided to write to Best Buy (the corporate owner of Geek Squad), to let them know this had happened. So, I attached the photo and emailed NewsCenter@bestbuy.com, the only email address on their website.
To whom it may concern,
I understand how busy people can be in their work lives and how difficult it can be to find parking in a city like San Francisco. On August 25, 2007, I was walking home from work and came upon Geek Squad van number 13-176 blocking the sidewalk on Fell Street, between Laguna and Buchanan, in San Francisco. Another van (didn’t get the number) was parked illegally across the street, blocking a driveway. Fell Street is the main west-bound road for this part of San Francisco, and traffic is heavy and dangerous to enter for a pedestrian. A person in a wheelchair would have found it impossible to pass altogether.
This behavior reflect poorly upon Best Buy and Geed Squad, and decreases the likelihood that I will make any purchases of products or services from these companies. Please encourage your employees to seek out legal parking. The next time I come upon a situation like this, I will contact the city to have the vehicles towed.
Sincerely,
Paul Brown
