There’s something so comforting about the ritual of going to work. I woke up early and laundered the only set of massage sheets I had here at the house in order to have a clean set of sheets for my client. I’ve been looking at getting a laundry service but haven’t found one that I am happy with yet, so the sheets have been growing in their bin in the corner of the office beside the dresser. I wheeled my big red bag downtown today in order to bring as many sets of sheets back for laundering here at the house.
My client arrived right on time, and we went to work. He’s very much into my energy work, so we do shiatsu and thai work, as well as some jin shin. But he also has some things going on with his shoulders that require some of my trigger point work, too, so it’s a mix of all my skills.
Once he left, I sat on my table, thinking I was going to put my shoes back on to get ready to leave. Instead, I laid down and slept for three hours! I guess I must have needed it. I woke up, packed up four sets of sheets, and headed across the street to my nemesis, but I had a small victory – I didn’t order any of their fries, which are like crack to me.
I came home and found that
Plumpy (dhpbear) had cleared the hallway out in preparation for the ceiling repair/painters to come tomorrow and start the long-awaited repairs to the all the ceilings where the roof leaks damaged them. I suspect that this particular room will take a few days to complete, as they have to remove the track-lights, remove broken plaster, replace it with either plaster or dry-wall, and then finally paint. It is not a small area, but at least the process has begun. I am grateful for my office space now – I can continue working while they are doing the house repairs.
