Aster asks:
Could i see a picture of your massage room?
What made you decide to train in massage therapy?
Have you ever been to England?
OK, three questions, but that’s as well.
My massage studio is located at 760 Market Street, Suite 755, in the Phelan Building, a Victorian Office Building built in 1908. I don’t have any decent photos of it yet, but as soon as I do, I’ll post them.
I decided to become a massage therapist because I wanted to do something as unlike computer programming as I could. I spent a long time in that sedentary career field, and needed to do something physically active, something immediate, something that’s not abstract, something that very directly helps people. Massage fills all of those needs. The body isn’t some abstract collection of objects and functions, but a very real, concrete thing laying there on the table, with a very real person animating it. Seeing someone get up off of my table after I have worked with them with less pain and/or greater mobility than before is such a joy. I am constantly amazed at how a simple touch well placed can be of tremendous benefit to someone. I didn’t know when I first started that I would be deriving such satisfaction from my work - heck, I didn’t even know that such satisfaction was even possible. Every day brings new challenges and new joys.
And finally, I’ve never been to England or anywhere else in Europe yet.
March is still Question Month. Ask here and be rewarded with an answer. All questions will be answered.
