20 Drops

by Paul Brown on 19 June 2006

Walked like a finely tuned construct
over to a reminiscent part of the Castro to have a conversation,
then walked back.

The noteworthy part of the walk back
was where I walked up Steiner
from Duboce Park to Fell Street,
then down to that humble palace, UGH.

Mindful of my body’s need for water,
I had loaded up on the way out and back,
breathing though my nose as much as
I possibly could to stay in the moment.

Around 80 percent.

The resultant expiration was around 20 drops.

I stretched twice,
deeply on the walk back,
but I came from my body’s neutral position, and kept my mind alert.
I feel a lovely sense of euphoria because of this accomplishment.

My body feels very energetic, full of airy goodness as I write these words.
I drank 6 more glasses of water when I got home, and am going to bed. Class awaits!
