I went to the interview yesterday with Clean Water Action, and met with a lovely lesbian named Mary. She and I hit it off really well, and I start next Wednesday for orientation and training. She thinks my deep voice will help me in convincing people to give money to their cause. I’ve been reading the script she gave me, and I think that I’ll be OK with it. It’s not cold calling; rather, it’s calling people who have donated or written letters (or both) in the past, and asking them to renew their membership, as well as letting them know what action they need to take, and what’s already been done.
It’s only 12-20 hours per week, so not a huge amount of time, and it will allow me to still focus most of my energy on my massage practice.
