Post-Turkey

by Paul Brown on 25 November 2005

Well, the turkey was yummy, but it was odd, because the very deepest parts of the bird were slightly undercooked, which fortunately, ten minutes in the microwave fixed. Next year, we’ll solve that little problem. I ended up changing a couple of things at the last minute. I made a pumpkin cheesecake instead of a pie and a cheesecake because when I was rolling out the dough for the crusts, I was one batch short, and I didn’t want to make more dough. I carmelized the pearl onions instead of making a cream sauce for them and the peas, and I didn’t make the cheese sauce for the brocolli. But I think the changes I made turned out for the better.

dhpbearPlumpy, bigjohnsfJohn, ursoUrso, tardisTom, and hardybearPeter all were at the table, and it was a fun and jovial conversation and evening.

My back started bothering me, though, so I headed to be at around 22:00. While I was laying in bed, my sister, Erica, called and we had a lovely conversation, getting all caught up.

I have two massages today, the the weekend largely free. We ran the race and fought the good fight, and this year’s Thanksgiving Marathon is over! Whew!
