Dinner with Kevin

by Paul Brown on 25 October 2005

and I went to Fresca, that Peruvian place in West Portal. He had some sort of shredded chicken stew, and I had braised pork, with slivered onions, spicy beans with a grilled sweet potato slice, and rice. The pork was perfectly tender and spicy! Yummy.

Afterward, we window shopped and go some ice cream at Double Rainbow – I had their marionberry sorbet, which led to a comparison of theirs and Mitchell’s from Sunday night. I can say that the Double Rainbow sorbet is too sweet for my tongue, so the winner is the Mitchell’s in the Battle of the Berries.

We rode back to the Castro and had some Chamomile tea at Tully’s, continuing our conversation until the barista kicked us out. It was starting to get late, so we parted company. The walk home was slow and thoughtful. Thanks, Kevin, for a great evening.
