All Around the Corner: corners rotate 180 degrees around the axis of right shoulders.
See Saw: partners rotate 180 degrees around the axis of left shoulders.
Rollaway: Boy and Girl have his right and her left hands joined, standing side by side. Girl rolls around in front of boy, facing him, and they let go of hands and join her right to his left and stand side by side, facing the same direction.
Split Two: couple faces another couple. The directed couple moves forward, splitting the other couple, as the other couple sidesteps to let the directed couple through. The next call directs the non-directed couple to move, completing the call.
Right and Left Through: Facing Dancers clasp right hands and do a pull-by, then partners do a Courtesy Turn.
Left Square Through (1-4): we didn’t do this one.
I went with
bestbear_icanbe and
bigjohnsf to the Oaktown 8’s class/club night. They meet in a lovely hall in Montclair. I watched, being a student still, and was very entertained at their antics! I feel like I know some of the more advanced calls now, though.
Take a spaghetti squash, and cut it in half lengthwise, and scoop out the seeds. Wrap each half in plastic wrap and place in the microwave for about 5-7 minutes. Melt a stick of butter, or a bit less if you prefer, and stir in some curry powder into the butter, and in a small casserole dish, mix the squash and butter mixture. Sprinkle with a decent layer of parmesan cheese and broil until the cheese is golden. Serve with a salad and crusty french bread.
Went to the South Bay Bears pool party at Per and Nathan’s yesterday. That was great fun, and a group of us, including,
bigjohnsf,
urso,
albadger,
ednixon,
tardis,
bestbear_icanbe, Sean, Kirby, and I went to Acapulco Mexican Restaurant for dinner. Something I ate there did not agree with me, and I’ve been feeling the effects of it from about 11pm last night until now. I didn’t really sleep last night, have slept the morning away, and am starting to feel better.
I made this new default LJ icon because I was bored with the other one.
I am eating a big bowl of Kellogg’s Raisin Bran with Soy Milk. It’s really yummy.
Frank and I went down to Mountain View so he could pick up a pair of boots to match his new Utilikilt. He doesn’t have the kilt with him, though; he sent it back to the factory for them to repair. Apparently, it had a small hole near the waistband when he bought it. We went to (don’t shoot me) Wal-Mart for the boots. Sometimes I’m very happy to wear size 16 shoes.
I went on date number two with G tonight. He’d never had sushi, so we went to Fuku-sushi in the Japan Center for supper, then over to the Bridge Theater to see The Aristocrats. We all in the audience laughed so hard our stomachs ached. What a great movie, if a touch too long. After the movie, we walked through Hayes Green, looking at the David Best Temple.
I’m tired, and have a massage in the morning, so I need to get to bed.
bigjohnsf is going to take a nap now.
I got a massage today from a therapist I traded with on Tuesday - it was a nice massage. I’m still undecided about whether I’d like to do another trade with him, though. After that, I rode the bus back home, and made some lunch. I microwaved a sweet potato wrapped in saran wrap, then unwrapped it, placed some slices of cheddar cheese on it, and a can of turkey chili. Yum yum!
Later, a massage client came by and we worked out his shoulders like nobody’s business! He was down in San Diego for the Gay Softball World Series last week and was all tight all over the place, so I really dug in to him and stretched him all out. He’s like a stretched out loaf of salt-water taffy now!
I did a massage trade with another therapist Tuesday morning, and he’ll be working on my today. I hope it’s good - he has already said to me that he thinks I’m a better massage therapist than him. Does that bode well or is he just being modest?
Yesterday, I finished the third in a series of massages I traded for some other work. That was fun, and later that evening, I went out to the Sausage Factory with a lovely gentleman. After dinner, we walked around the Castro for a time, window-shopping and talking more. Eventually, we had to part, but we have a second date set up already.
