Sunday Dinner

by Paul Brown on 22 November 2004

I decided I needed to practice the Lemon Supreme Cheesecake that I am making for Thanksgiving, so the Sunday Dinner™ crowd got to sample it. The lemon curd didn’t have enough time to set completely, and it ran a bit, but I will have more time when I’m in Longmont, so I’m not worried.

I split and seeded two spaghetti squashes and microwaved them, then shredded the flesh with a fork, mixed it with garlic, butter, and a dash of cinammon, then topped with parmesan cheese and broiled it. I put some oil and red pepper flakes into my stir-fry pan, and when the oil was really hot, put the haricot verts into the oil and quickly fried them up, then added some hoi sin sauce to finish them off. I made a salad of romaine hearts and croutons, dressed in poppy seed dressing. I made a loaf of sourdough garlic bread. Then it was time to ring the dinner bell.

The usual suspects, , , , , , and all partook of the meal, and all but had the cheesecake. I was diggin’ on the cheesecake – fluffy and smooth, and the lemon curd was too thin, but amazingly tasty. Once I get that lemon curd to set properly, I’ll be happy with that recipe.
