His portrayal of the Bear family, complete with a “Mama Bear,” his husbear, “Papa Bear,” and their cub, “Baby Bear,” is pure genius – their over-the-top growls and woofs and constant cuddling and togetherness rang as ridiculously true because of precisely how over-the-top it was. I’m still giggling about it.
I don’t want to give the film away, but there are several “ew” moments, and the way the film builds to its climax, and the climax itself, is something that every other film maker will envy.
Anyway, the consensus from us six was that this movie ranks right up there with some of his best work – in the lower portion of the first tier, to be sure, but still in the first tier.
I would go see this movie again, and probably will.
